Heyzeus, as in ‘Jesus’, is an electrifying acoustic rock/pop duo, hailing from the Scottish Borders. Frontman Jamie Andrew, with his unmistakably soulful, yet raw and raspy voice, often gets described as the lovechild of Kurt Cobain and Jesus. Pair that with bombshell percussionist and drummer Jessica Louise, and you have a pretty powerful force to be reckoned with! Heyzeus perform an exciting array of covers from 60s to current day, all in their distinct and naturally cool acoustic rock style. You’d be forgiven for thinking some of these covers were their own. The evolution of Heyzeus came to fruition after drummer Jessica, saw Jamie on the UK’s Saturday Night ITV1 show ‘Take Me Out.’ After liking what she saw, Jessica hunted him down on social media, and travelled the length of the country to meet Jamie in his hometown of Tunbridge Wells, Kent. When the pair first met, Jessica hadn’t even picked up a set of drum sticks before! Within a week of purchasing a cajon (a box drum from Peru), Jessica was performing her first gig with Jamie! The duo have since made their mark on many iconic stages around the world, including gigs at the world famous 'Ibiza Rocks Hotel’ and a residency at Marilyn Monroes’ previous home, ‘The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.' They have shared festival and gig stages with the likes of Tom Grennan, The Lemonheads and Bastille. Most recently, Heyzeus returned from their 23/24 winter week tour in the French Alps, where they were gigging most nights at a mix of lively Apres Ski venues, and 4 and 5 star luxury hotels. Way back in 2012, singer Jamie Andrew embarked on a 2 year busking trip around the world. Appropriately named, 'The Great Big Busk', Jamie busked, hitch-hiked and couch-surfed his way around Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Other notable performances include Jamie starring on the 22/23 season of 'The Voice UK', wowing all 4 coaches, landing a space on Sir Tom Jones' team. Expect immaculate vibes, pure energy, and an abundance of absolutely banging tunes from these two little gems! PS.
